Position Summary: Candidates must have at least 1 year of experience in horticulture, experience with ornamental hand pruning, a strong work ethic, and a love of the outdoors. Candidates with formal education in horticulture who have earned or are working towards a degree in horticulture will be in consideration for Team Leader. Strong career path available for candidates who are interested in earning their MCH, MNLP, Arborists certification, or becoming a licensed pesticide applicator with expertise in Tree & Shrub Health Care.

Primary Duties:

• Ornamental hand pruning
• Deadheading, weeding, and raking of planting beds
• Identification of problems within landscape (proper id not required, just a keen eye to issues to be brought
  to the attention of the Horticultural Director)
• Installation of plant material in small design projects
• Installation of of plant material in annual color projects (mass plantings of annuals)
• Addressing issues in the landscape to optimize aesthetics (for instance, adjusting soil pH to deepen the blue of a hydrangea)
• Be accountable for profitability of projects via time management, technique, and team work

Landscape Construction Foreman Position Summary: Responsible for the efficient operation and installation of landscape design projects. Expected to work in a co-operation with designer, other crews and crewmembers, and customers to complete a professional, quality project on time.

Primary Duties:

• To be available for work Monday through Saturday, as scheduled, and be flexible with hours worked as
  required by seasonal schedule and weather conditions
• Reviews and understands drawing, bids, and details with a designer in advance to determine job requirements
• Follows instructions of the Manager without deviation • Installs projects per design; only making major alterations after
  approval from the designer and homeowner
• Responsible for the loading and unloading of trucks to insure proper materials, supplies, and equipment for the
  job area available and onsite
• Train employees under his/her direction
• Ability to lay-out drawings onsite to match the designs form and measurements
• Customer communications courteous and as needed
• Promote Safety
• Provide leadership
• Take responsibility for you and your crews actions
• Gain and expand a thorough working knowledge of plant and hardscape materials
• Follow and enforce company policy
• Job not limited to this description

Job requirements:

• Ability to read blueprints and plans
• Ability to manage crew personnel and delegate tasks
• Have a valid DL and be able to operate large trucks and trailers
• Have good communication skills
• Be able to troubleshoot issues as they arise and evaluate priorities of job routines
